  • All Hands and Hearts

All Hands and Hearts spent the last year removing debris, conducting muck and guts and mold sanitation jobs, and rebuilding, and continues to respond to critical needs.

They are also building storage sheds for community members to use while their homes are being repaired, distributing food at local pantries, planting trees and organizing a major tool donation to Habitat for Humanity.

  • Direct Relief

Direct Relief continues to remain focused on cash grants for clinic repair and replacing equipment that was lost or destroyed. With help from Direct Relief, a local free clinic was able to restock their medications and supplies, as well as secure an EKG machine.

  • South Florida Wildlife Center

In the days following Hurricane Ian, South Florida Wildlife Center received three times their usual weekly intake of displaced and injured animals. Over the summer, they released the last group of animals brought in after the storm to their natural habitats. Their own facility was damaged and is now back on its feet as construction has begun on an expansion and upgrades.

  • Florida Immigrant Coalition

Over the last year, Florida Immigration Coalition placed 5,770 calls to community members to identify critical issues and to connect them with resources in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. They partnered with members and allies to bring mutual aid to farmworkers affected by the storm, shared disaster food assistance with 50K+ families and provided support through their Hotline.

  • The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy’s branches took in 81 sick and injured animals after Hurricane Ian. These animals were brought in by rescue transporters as well as the general public, weeks after the Hurricane had blown over.
