The need

New York City quickly became the country’s coronavirus hotspot with a record number of confirmed cases and hospitalizations.

Healthcare workers, hospital staff and first responders continue to work day and night to care for sick patients and to keep our communities safe. In many cases they're doing so without access to the personal protective equipment they need, as the country faces a critical shortage of supplies. Many have run out of or are low on masks, the very protection they need to stay healthy and continue saving lives.

Getting these masks into the hands of essential workers immediately can mean the difference between life and death.

How you can help

The Goodnation Foundation has partnered with the global company Manufactured to manufacture up to 10 million KN95 respirator masks, import them and deliver them to where they’re needed most. The Fund is currently focused on New York City, where the greatest need is at the moment, and will be updated to include more locations as needs change across the country.

The masks cost just $3 each, so your generous donation will go a long way in allowing us to immediately get the necessary protective equipment to the front lines. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Thank you for your help and generosity.

How the fund works

Goodnation is coordinating with local healthcare providers and agencies, including the NYC Mayor’s Office, to ensure masks will be distributed responsively to the places where they are most needed.

All donations are 100% tax deductible. The Fund is structured as follows:

Fund update: $34,000 raised

We're excited to share that, as of May 1, we've raised over $30,000 to purchase respirator masks for essential workers including healthcare workers and hospital staff, homecare workers and FDNY firefighters.

This is an incredible start and as needs continue, we encourage you to join us by making a gift today.

More ways to help: Start your annual giving today!

Whether directly responding to the coronavirus crisis or not, nonprofits are already beginning to struggle financially as donors’ priorities are elsewhere and critical fundraising events over the next several months are cancelled. Organizations addressing the causes you care about need your support now more than ever.

We urge donors who are able to consider giving your annual gifts now, instead of waiting until year-end. This will ensure the nonprofits you care about can plan and budget accordingly as they weather disruptions to their programs, develop creative approaches to serve their communities, and maintain long term financial stability.

Log onto your Goodnation portfolio or get started by taking our brief giving survey to give to high-performing organizations serving the communities you care about.
